We lovingly call the animals in our home and farm our “Beasties,” this soap was created especially for them, but the truth is that if you don’t mind the smell of Neem Oil, (I think it smells deeply earthy and don’t mind it at all, but I’ve heard others say it smells like burnt garlic and dirty socks!!! I think that’s a bit exaggerated, but still, I get it, it doesn’t smell like roses and lavender!”) It’s a cure all for troubled, distressed skin. It keeps insects at bay including mosquitoes, ticks and fleas, it’s great for eczema, baby skin, senior skin, furry skin and everything in between! We even use it on our horses, chickens and goats, followed up my natural insect spray. The horses don’t have nearly as much trouble with flies buzzing around their eyes, and the goats and chickens stay clear of mites. I would never use commercial fly spray on our children or the animals they love. This is the only soap I’ll take camping with me because it allows us to enjoy the outdoors without getting all bitten up by bugs, (though in the evenings I spray everyone down with my natural insect/mosquito/flea/tick spray.)
100% organic ingredients of saponified Olive, Palm and Coconut Oils, Neem Oil, Goats Milk, Lavender and Rosemary Essential Oils
We started raising goats 12 years ago when one of our children showed a sensitivity to store bought dairy and conventional soaps and detergents. We let her try some real farm fresh goats milk and low and behold, it didn’t bother her like the store bought stuff did. We bought some natural goats milk soap and again, her body responded beautifully. Ear infections started to finally disappear, skin rashes and tummy aches were a think of the past. We’ve been hooked ever since.
Why our soaps are different…
Our soap is made only with the very best ingredients that we use for our own family. If I ever dye a soap it’s with natural food ingredients such as turmeric, beets, spinach, spirulina, and blueberry powder. All the herbs in our soaps are non irradiated and organic. The only thing our soaps are ever scented with is organic high quality essential oils and herbs that are either organic or grown in our own garden.
I always use food grade lye to saponify the oils into soap.
Our soap is extra gentle and moisturizing, not only because of the goats milk, but because I don’t use a high percentage of coconut oil which makes a soap very drying and harsh.
Unlike many goats milk soaps, I use 100% goats milk for the liquid portion of the soap, not just a tiny bit of milk and the rest water as is common practice.
Our soaps are crafted for a 7% superfat which is another reason they are so gentle and moisturizing. Some of the oils in the soap are retained and not eaten up by the lye in order to keep your skin from being dried out.
