Daniel & Carina Guillory Family

Our Family works together to raise the highest quality Standard Poodles and F1 Standard and Medium sized Teddy Bear type Goldendoodles. We have been breeding the Standard Poodles and Goldendoodles since 2001 raising about three litters a year, but have moved in a step of faith to both Daniel and I working full time with the dogs since April of 2007.

Our family currently consists of a wonderful, faithful husband/loving and active father Daniel, the wife and mommy Carina (me!) an 11 year old fun loving and adventurous daughter Rebekah, her 10 year old, creative and sensitive sister Danielle, a rambunctious funny little three year old named Isaiah, a cuddly baby sister Hannah Grace, who adores her siblings and a new baby who has not come out to meet us yet!

We are so incredibly blessed to get to raise up these precious puppies to bless other families and earn a living at the same time. What a joy this last year and a half has been to all be home together homeschooling our children and sharing in the days activities. The children are overjoyed to have their daddy always available (well mostly!) to help them with a math question, give a hug, play a game or fix a broken toy!

Daniel has interest in going to school to become a licensed dog trainer as he currently does all the training of our adult dogs himself. We are hoping to complete this by the end of 2009. Daniel is the backbone to our business, doing the majority of the care of the big dogs, all our grooming and of course all the maintenance issues that come up! I keep up the website (by sending the changes into the fabulous person who knows about such things!) and take most of the calls, answer peoples questions, help make matches between people and their puppies, basically do all things that have to do with our clients.

Danielle does most of the picture taking for the weekly pictures and updates I send out every week to the people on the list to adopt a puppy, as well as helps out with the many dog chores before and after school time. She’s also learned how to do the early Neurological Stimulation with the puppies. Rebekah has wonderful organizational skills and does a great job keeping things clean and orderly. Isaiah is now learning from his big sisters how to scan the hill side for poop to put into his bag! He also helps to love on and socialize the puppies by just being his cute three year old self and having supervised playtime with them! Hannah Grace also helps in the socialization department by getting them used to the sound of a baby’s cry and the feel of a toddler crawling over to them on wobbly legs for a hug! Believe it or not this does not come naturally to a dog and can be very scary for a dog who’s not been exposed to it, sometimes resulting in fear aggression.

Our puppies are renowned for their both their gentle, reliable and intelligent dispositions as well as their beautiful Teddy Bear looks. They make wonderful, loving family companions. While our dogs make excellent companions for many different types of families and home situations, we specialize in breeding and raising our pups to do especially well in homes with children. This is due to their solid and reliable dispositions and easy trainability. We have many of our pups who’s owners have trained for therapy work. This is especially rewarding for all involved, including us!

Our dogs are first and foremost our friends and loving companions. They sleep in the house and play with our children and their friends. Our favorite game is to stand at the top of the hill of our property and throw the ball down so they can chase it and bring it back. Some of our dogs can play this game for a long time before becoming so tired they simply can’t make it up the hill one more time!

We are very diligent in choosing the dogs we will use for our breeding program. Both the Bitch and Sire must be of excellent temperament, not showing aggression, or shyness. They must be intelligent, calm, easily trainable and gentle. They must closely resemble what the AKC Standard of their breed requires for conformation and temperament, and they must either pass their health certifications, or come from parents who have passed, or both, for problems known to be present in their breeds.

While our dogs are show quality and have champion lines, we do not breed for show. We are very interested in doggie sports and obedience competition. Daniel is working towards getting one of our Standard Poodles her CD obedience title and getting another one ready to join a fly ball team. We strongly urge the new owners of our puppies to go to group obedience classes, both to learn good manners and for socialization. it’s also excellent learning for owners as well. Even if you’re a doggie pro there are always new things you can learn at a class. Not only will your dog love this one on one time with you and be much happier because they know what’s expected of them, but you will also have a well mannered dog that you don’t have to be afraid to take in public with you.

We work extensively with our puppies to make the transition from our home to yours as smooth as possible for your puppy and you. Our puppies will come into your home confident, not shy. They are used to all the typical household noises. They will be crate trained and be able to go 7-8 hours at night without messing their crate by the time you take them home at ten weeks. While extremely loving, gentle and friendly dogs, they also are a very intuitive and loyal dog that makes a good watch dog should an unusual circumstance with someone with less than pure motives arise.

All the puppies are raised in the living room of our house. Each puppy is given lots of attention and love by people of all ages, especially children. They are exposed to other animals that live in our home as well. Their nails are clipped on a regular basis so they get used to their feet being touched, they are lightly brushed daily so they become accustomed to grooming, we even take them for rides in the car! Poodle puppies are introduced to the sound, vibrations and eventually feel of grooming clippers from only a couple days old so grooming will never be a traumatic experience. Each puppy is held and cradled in our arms and in the arms of my children many times each day. Each puppy in the litter is comfortable being held on their back cradled in your arms while you rub their bellies. They will stay in this position until your arm tires of holding them!

I like to take time talking to you over the phone and through emails. This way I can help you choose a puppy that will fit perfectly into your home.

Please take a look around for more information and of course pictures of our family, both canine and human! We try to keep everything current and up to date. We have excellent references I’d be happy to give you. Shipping is available costs $450. Door to door delivery or meeting you half way is available if our schedule allows for those living within or in bordering states to California. Cost is high as it takes a lot of time and expense for us to do this, but we don’t mind and even enjoy getting to meet you in person when we otherwise would only meet over the phone.

Puppies come with health certificate, age appropriate shots and worming’s, a bag of the kibble portion (we feed a 50/50 mix of kibble and raw, so only the kibble portion of what we feed will be sent home, you can buy a bag of raw Instinct or Primal to have on hand when your puppy comes home,) a “baby” bag of goodies which includes a home made scented blankie to help ease the separation, a spay/neuter contract and health guarantee, freshly bathed and groomed, flee free, and all the before and after support you may need with your new baby.

God Bless You and Your Family,
Daniel and Carina Guillory
